Biodegradable
Biodegradable means that a product can be broken down over a reasonable length of time, without oxygen. Biodegradable plastics use 5% oil in the manufacturing process, which means they can not be recycled due to contamination of the other plastics and they do not biodegrade in the ocean.
Recycling of plastic bags
The recycling of plastic bags used to be generally considered impossible, but there are in fact 7 identification codes that could help you to recycle successfully. In each recycling symbol there should be a classification number which corresponds to the plastic resin used during manufacture.
